In Academic Texts, there are presently four main techniques used. First if all it should be created with formal theme or words as it sets the professional tone of the text, given this circumstance casual talk is not allowed. Secondly, it should be impersonal meaning it shouldn't revolve around your feelings or any personal opinion. Third, all data should be accurate and concise therefore proofs are evident. Lastly, these texts are to be made objective, avoid being biased.
Now on with the structures, there are nine main structures of academic texts namely, definition, description, Recount of Sequence, Cause and Effect, Comparison and Contrast, Enumeration, Problem and Solution, Classification and Thesis Evidence. Definition means how a certain term or word should be defined. Description is how a text is to be described. The Recount of Sequence is to organize the ideas in narration, Cause and Effect is pretty much self explanatory it explains the cause or what makes a certain phenomenon happen and its effect or what happens after it occurs. Comparison and Contrast means how an idea is compared to another, and finding the difference between the two or more ideas. Enumeration is when you make a list of numbers or enumerate ideas chronologically on a list. Problem and Solution talks about the problem and the various solutions on how to solve or get through such problems. Classification is how you categorize ideas or just arrange them in groups according to a certain category that they all have in common. Lastly, The Thesis Evidence are the ideas that clarify the theory in simple words these are the evidences that should support the theory.
Those different structures of Academic Texts are important as to how the different organ systems are important to our bodies as living human beings. Without us ever having the knowledge of these different structures, it is given that we wouldn't be making any progress in our tasks of creating Academic Texts. Keeping knowledge of these different structures is like a way of respecting the different professionals that have worked their ways to teach us essential knowledge that they have found, they bestow upon us the responsibility of how we should adapt and be more innovative with this aspect as it is truly beneficial to the progression of our lives as human beings.
